Bliss from Blessings #44

44.
  • It has taken me two hours each morning to get to work this week. I am so grateful for my safety on the road. I have been incredibly blessed in my travels
  • No meetings, no errands, just time to be at home tonight.
  • A renewed drive to be more kind and soft spoken. If you hear me say something too quick or too harsh....Taboo beep me :)
  • Learning how to make my first video with video editing software! It was super easy and kind of fun!
  • My in-laws gave us a treadmill ages ago and I finally broke it out and started to use it. This could be good.

Leave of Absence

Check me out....I have been such a slacker with my posts. Life got really fast there for a few weeks and I figured it was more important to live it, than blog about it.

I have a few pictures I'll post later and a few key highlights below. I'll get back to my blessings tomorrow :)

  • This was our first traditional Thanksgiving since we've been married and it was kind of nice. Thanks (or not) to a little family injury, we stayed home from the sand dunes. We are grateful that everyone is healthy and on the mend.
  • We (and by we, I mean my husband) are all signed up for next semester at ASU. The end is so close, we can taste it. Just a few more to go.
  • We are both really excited for Christmas. We love (and probably spend too much money) shopping for other people. I'm determined to find some unique and wonderful things.
  • Finally sold one of our cars....such a relief. Not having to think about that opens up a whole world of goals and opportunities.
  • I am loving the people we go to church with. It is such a change and such a wonderful group of people. It has enlightened our minds, lives, and spirits and I think we can both honestly say we look forward to every church meeting we have. Tyler is such a great example for the youth and I love having a few minutes to teach some music skills to the ladies. Church is our labor of love and our break from the world.

Living day by day. That's our stride lately. We are happy, healthy, grateful, and as always....

Blessed.

Bliss from Blessings #47,48,49,50

47.
  • Feeling like I have a little more control over my life today, even though I really don't :)
  • Comparing grocery ads. I've been a tremendous slacker with my menu plans, about a 6 month slacker, but I still take a little time to save some cash. It's good for my brain.
  • This is gross....BUT....I finally decided to pop a zit the 'right' way. It totally worked! Not as quickly as I wanted it to, but still got the same fulfillment when I popped it. (Don't laugh at me like I'm a weirdo! You know you love it when you vaccum and you hear it sucking up all the dirt! Same thing!) Worth it...thanks Beth
  • SYTYCD!!!
  • Tyler. He is a blessing for sure.
48.

Bliss from Blessings #52 and #51

51.
  • Getting to mix and mingle with some interviewees at work. What a blessing to be on the other side and finished with all of that stress!
  • Raspberry Lemon cheescake....for free :)
  • Sneaking out early to take some potential hires back to the airport (to bad I got a little crazy in the airport and missed my exit so I really didn't get home any earlier)
  • Putting the finishing touches on T's resume. It is a thing of beauty.
  • Being able to finally take some time and write in my journal.

52.

  • Tyler waking me up just in time to catch Ruby before throwing up next to the bed. He's a much better parent...haha
  • A dreary and overcast morning with a hint of crisp, freshness. A wonderful combination.
  • A free mattress from my friend at work! It's nearly brand new and too soft for her back...WHAT....too soft???!!! Bring it on!!! Especially if it's free.
  • Finding out I have a little more time to work on a project. I could breathe a sigh of relief and make sure I was really prepared.
  • Water. I like water alot.

  • The opportunity to buy a needy child some Christmas presents! Here it comes folks...ready or not....Christmas is ramping up speed!

Bliss from Blessings #56,55,54

  • Motivation. It is refreshing to be kicked in the pants every once and a while. Uncomfortable, but good for the soul.
  • Home made bread with my lunch!!
  • So You Think You Can Dance....caught ya! It's been a while.
  • I can feel the winter coming. I want to bake and cook. It makes me feel complete, like this is the person I feel comfortable being. Happy, working, in the kitchen making others happy. It's really nice.
  • T is doing some great stuff with the youth at church and it is awesome to start learning their names and feeling a part of something so important in their lives.
55.

  • Finally back in the office and it feels so good! I like being home.
  • A couple of last minute projects to keep me busy. I know it's weird to be grateful for last minute things, but it does make me move forward with purpose and direction and I like that feeling.
  • Watching dancing with the stars!!
  • Making some butternut squash. I never really know what to do with it, but I like playing around. One day I'll figure out the perfect dish.
  • Snuggling up with little Joey dog on the couch...she's a good snuggler.
56.

  • I quiet Sunday morning. We both slept until 8am...that's a big deal.
  • Playing with 2 little cutie-pies during church! I know, totally irreverent, but I couldn't help it. One was walking away so I just had to grab him and the other was tossed into my lap as his mom ran out with the daughter :) I was just helping out!
  • Finally eating a real home-made meal. I ate out all last week in Minnesota, so Tyler ate out all last week in Phoenix. Yummy tacos made my Tyler and I dug into my homemaking roots and made some homemade bread. Felt good.
  • Preparing for a little Christmas event with the ladies in my ward. We are doing a progressive dinner down a beautiful street close to our neigboorhood. Salad here, Dinner there, and Dessert some where else. Should be fun!
  • Finally seeing Lyndsey! I never get to see her! At least we got to hang out for 10 minutes...better than nothing.

Bliss from Blessings #63, #62, #61, #60, and #59 whew!

Okay, so it's been a while. I'm going to try and remember what I can, so you may not get 5, but some is better than none.

59.

  • Daylight savings time, so I didn't have to wake up 2 hours early in Minneaoplis this morning
  • Yummy dinner at Red Stone....I was so full of yummy appetizers and yummy noodles
  • Fooling people with my best rendition of 2 truths and 1 lie to date!
  • Fluffy beds
  • Knowing that I am missed when I am away

60.

  • Being super productive at the airport
  • M&M Trail Mix....a life saver on a long flight
  • Having a friend to travel with so it's not so lonely
  • Finally being comfortable running around in a bunch of different airports. It's kind of scary when terminals start to feel like home...lol

  • Having time to regroup before I left for Minnepolis
  • Arby's curly fries, can you say fantastic?
62.
  • A good, long walk with Christie with our pooches. It was really good to catch up with her and hear about her job. I guess getting off my keester was good too, haha.
  • Rocking out to some jams in the camper trailer after getting out the shower (and not realizing that everyone outside in the camp could hear my music too!)
  • We were SO SO blessed that Sheridda didn't hurt herself any more than she did. A good gash on her chin, but nothing life threatening, so blessed.
  • Boys that are well-skilled in DIY doctoring. A little tape, super glue, and peroxide and anything can be fixed!
63.

  • Half day Friday!!!
  • Getting a ton of errands done on my way home
  • Tyler's wedding ring is finally fixed. We have been battling Kay Jewelers for over 3 months to get this ring repaired. Finally after laying the smack down I was satisfied with their repairs. Picky...maybe....Right...definitely. :)
  • Snuggling up in the cold, deserted, dunes. It just brings me back to nature and let's me forget everything complicated. It may be something about just satisfying my basic human need of warmth that just grounds me in my life.
